Since the story has been released, major news agencies are confirming the cheating scandal story. So someone high up in Florida is confirming the story.
To confirm the story, the Washington Post most likely called the Florida athletic department. A classmate or a tenured professor would be too hard for so many organizations to reach.
With Urban Meyer using a carefully worded press release that cleared his staff, it would be a highly likely that the Florida athletic department coordinated this release of personal information.
