THE DISPATCH- Tyrann "Honey Badger" Mathieu cannot return to the LSU football team at any time in the future, LSU senior associate athletic director for NCAA compliance Bo Bahnsen reiterated on Monday after an ESPN story stated there was a chance Mathieu could return for the 2013 season.
"He's permanently ineligible to play football at LSU," Bahnsen said in a telephone interview Monday afternoon. "That's definite. That's what was said Friday."
Heisman Trophy finalist Tyrann Mathieu was kicked off LSU's football team Friday for breaking an athletic department rule, a blow to the Tigers' national championship hopes three weeks before their season opener.
The junior defensive back nicknamed Honey Badger was a surprising Heisman candidate last season when the Tigers won the Southeastern Conference championship and reached the BCS title game. They are among the favorites to win the championship this year.
At a news conference Friday, coach Les Miles would not specify the reason Mathieu was dismissed.
ESPN- Last week, a hopeful prospect showed up at LSU's July football camp. He posted an impressive 4.46 40-yard dash, and he earned a scholarship offer from the Tigers' coaching staff for his efforts.
It's a scene that plays out on college campuses every single summer, although this offer was different for one main reason -- Dylan Moses has yet to start eighth grade.
Considering the Tigers are only just starting to hand out offers to members of the Class of 2014, it came as a bit surprise for a 2017 prospect to get one.
Through the end of July, here are the verbal commits for 2012:
1) LSU Tigers 18
2) Alabama Crimson Tide 14
3) Miss State Bulldogs 14
4) Auburn Tigers 13
5) Arkansas Razorbacks 12
6) Ole Miss Rebels 8

ALABAMA
Ha’Sean Clinton-Dix, S: Alabama boasts one of the best safety tandems in the league in Mark Barron and Robert Lester, but the 6-foot-1, 203-pound Clinton-Dix has the size and skill set to come in and make the Crimson Tide even stronger on the back end of their defense.
Cyrus Kouandjio, OT: One of the top offensive tackle prospects in the country last year, Kouandjio could provide some immediate depth. The Tide were already looking at moving All-SEC guard Barrett Jones to left tackle.
LSU
Jarvis Landry, WR: If the Tigers are going to make a run at a national championship in 2011, they’re going to need a lot more production from their passing game than they got a year ago. Landry is dynamic in the open field and should complement Rueben Randle and Russell Shepard nicely.

CHUCKOLIVER.NET- Kragthrope favors multiple formations utilizing the same personnel. I-formation, single back, shotgun, etc., all without substituting players.
This should take advantage of LSU's incredible wealth of offensive talent and versatility while exploiting defenses who won't have the chance to make substitutions.

In Michigan, the Wolverines are searching for a head football coach. Our prediction is that the timing is better for Les Miles to return to his alma mater this time around.
Too much scrutiny and competition in the SEC to make Miles stay around. Even when he is winning, Miles has been getting pummeled by the media and the Tiger fans...
If the job is offered, Miles is gone....
